Coins, cylindrical seal, wooden door and processional standard named national heritage

TEHRAN – As a priceless measure, four authentic elements, found in Kermanshah province, have been enshrined in Iran’s national heritage roster.

The newly registered objects include Parthian coins, cylindrical seal, Biglar-Beigi Tekyeh processional standard [Alam], and a wooden door, boasting roots back to different eras, a local official said  on Sunday.

Kiumars Khani further detailed the treasures, stating that dozens of silver Parthian coins were found after Sarpole-e Zahab’s earthquake in 2018.

He also pointed to the exceptional historical value of cylindrical seal which is an Assyrian heritage.

Moreover, the official mentioned two Qajar elements named Biglar-Beigi Tekyeh processional standard [Alam] and wooden door, both having precious aspects.

It’s noteworthy that according to official statistics, Kermanshah province is home to 4200 historical sites dating back to different eras and dynasties.

In addition, as revealed by one of the provincial officials, so far more than 2000 elements from Kermanshah are registered at a national level, two of which are even secured internationally, which sheds light on the region’s considerable richness.

The Tekyeh, a vaulted place used during the rituals to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hossein (AS), is worth visiting for its dazzling architecture that includes a mirror-tiled central dome room.
